Adam Levine will be returning as a coach on the 27th season of “The Voice,” alongside newcomer Kelsea Ballerini and returning coaches Michael Buble and John Legend.

Levine will be returning to the big red chair six years after he departed the show in 2019. Last season’s coaches were Buble, Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani.

In May 2019, the Maroon 5 frontman shared a heartfelt statement announcing that he’d be leaving “The Voice” after 16 seasons. Levine first took his seat in a giant red chair on April 26, 2011.

“About 8 years ago, [executive producer] Mark Burnett convinced us to sign up for this show where you sit in a big red chair with your back turned away from the singers on the stage,” wrote Levine on Facebook at the time. “First thank you must go to Mark. We had no idea what we were doing or where it was going. After the first day of shooting, I sat there, stunned. I said to myself ‘theres some magic here. Something is definitely happening.’ It went on to be a life shaping experience that will be close to my heart forever.”

Meanwhile, Ballerini will be making her official coaching debut after appearing on “The Voice” as a battle advisor during season 16 in 2019. The country singer had made another brief appearance on the series in 2021 when she filled in for Kelly Clarkson during season 20.
