JENNIE is opening up about the differences between performing as a solo artist and working with BLACKPINK, while also reflecting on her musical collaboration with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker.
During a conversation with Parker, the K-pop star discussed how her approach to music and live performances changes depending on the project. As a member of BLACKPINK, JENNIE works within a group dynamic that requires coordination and shared decisions. Her solo career allows her to take a more personal approach to creative direction and stage production.
The two artists also discussed Dua Lipa, with Parker drawing comparisons between her and JENNIE. Their conversation touched on creativity, demanding schedules, and the work involved in maintaining successful music careers.
JENNIE and Tame Impala recently joined forces on a remix of Dracula, bringing their distinct musical styles together. The collaboration reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, adding another major chart achievement to JENNIE’s growing solo catalog.
Her solo projects continue alongside her work with BLACKPINK, giving her opportunities to explore different sounds and performance styles.
