Prince’s musical archive has opened again with Timeless, a new posthumous collection bringing together 10 rare and previously unreleased recordings made across nearly four decades.
Released August 28 by the Prince Estate in partnership with Legacy Recordings, the album spans sessions from 1977 through 2016. The project was announced as the first Prince collection specifically curated to represent every major period of his recording career, beginning with material created when he was still a teenager.
The tracklist moves chronologically through songs including I Am You, Tick Tick Bang, Heaven, I Wonder, With This Tear, Stone, Calabama, The Guilty Ones and Bestest Friend. It closes with a live 2016 performance of How Come You Don’t Call Me Anymore?
A previously unreleased 2007 recording, The Guilty Ones, also arrived with a new music video. The collection was mixed and mastered by longtime Prince engineer Chris James.
Timeless arrives during the 10th anniversary year of Prince’s death and is available digitally, on CD and vinyl.
